I've always loved the concept of finding a way for my artwork to give back to the community. When Heartfelt Tidbits offered the chance to create murals for their schools, it opened up a passion that I didn't realize I had.

sunset for AWL

I created my biggest project (8x25 ft !!) ever and also first EVER mural to brighten up the cafeteria at AWL. I am so thankful to Heartfelt Tidbits for allowing me this opportunity and the people who contributed in helping me bring my design to life. I chose to make this sunset design in the simplified stylized way that I did to keep in consideration the kind of environment it surrounds. It is to cater to kids and bring them a more colorful school. The softer colors are to invoke comfort and the overall nature-based design was inspired by a feeling that all the children would be familiar with. I was so grateful to already get so much positive feedback from the students while i was in the process of working on it and if they loved it as much as they did in it’s unfinished state, i can’t wait for them to enjoy it more in its completion.

little library cubs

The little library design was created by taking the logo design for the Rising Star’s Carthage Cubs, and using a reminiscent well-known story most people are aware of, Goldilocks and the Three Little Bears, as inspiration for a library at a children’s school. With the inclusion of diversity through languages, my intention is to make everyone feel like they are welcome to contribute and take from this library. Very fitting, fun and familiar.

I worked with fellow interns Hannah Spitzer and Rissy Fabiilli to paint on this mural after searching online for an inspiration. Our goal was to create a mural that will help showcase the unification and celebration of the students' differences at AWL. We wanted to be able to spread the message in a clear and fun way for all the kids to understand and enjoy.
